In Science in grade 4, we are currently learning about rocks and minerals. This week we learned that a mineral is composed of one substance, while a rock is made out of at least two mineral substances. To demonstrate this, we used blue, red and yellow clay and mixed them together. Also, Reese and Samantha brought a rock and a mineral to show to the class. Reese brought an igneous rock, a rock coming from a volcano in Greece. Samantha brought a mineral from Brazil here our photos.
In grade 5, we are learning about the circulatory system. We've had many questions such as: "How does a defibrillator work in your body?", "What color is our blood?" and "What happens when you have a heart attack?". In order to answer these questions, we made hypotheses and did research. For those of you who haven't finished their work, here is the list of the websites.
