a note has gone home tonight to inform you that there are cases of head lice in our class. Here are a few things that you should be aware of regarding head lice:
Outbreaks of head lice are common throughout the school year. Head lice spread quickly by close, head-to-head contact. Lice cannot live on furniture or carpet, and they cannot jump or fly. There may be few or no symptoms, but itching may occur.
You can help by:
- Checking your child’s head with the wet-combing method of detection once a week
throughout the school year;
- Encouraging your child to wear their hair tied back, and avoid touching heads with other
student;
- Using the wet-combing method of treatment or other treatments immediately if you notice lice on your child’s head.

Should you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to leave a note in your child's agenda or give me a call at the school.
Thank you.
